Charles Frillian Shepherd

Charles Frillian Shepherd, Sr., 84, of Carrollton, passed away on April 8, 2020.  He was the son of the late Robert Oscar Shepherd and Flora Hylemon Shepherd.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Merle Flanders Shepherd.  He is survived by his son, Charles F. Shepherd, Jr. (Fran); daughters, Debra Shepherd and Linda Jean Smith; five grandchildren; great grandchildren; sisters, Ada Buckner and Jean Edwards.  Mr. Shepherd retired as a brakeman, working in the railroad industry most of his life, and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Smithfield.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2020, 1 p.m. in St. Luke’s Memorial Park Cemetery, Smithfield.  A viewing will be held on Friday from 1 till 5 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield.  In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.  Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
