Cathleen Gray Howren

Cathleen Gray Howren, 69, of Smithfield, passed away on, Wednesday, October 27, 2021.  She was the daughter of the late Van Buren Gray, Jr. and Fancheon Allien Kuehn Gray.  She is survived by her daughters, Brooke Delatte (Anthony) and Autumn Moore (Jacob); grandchildren, Anthony, Jr, (Brittany), Makala, Cora, and Finn; great granddaughter, Kennedy; sisters, Shirlene Harper (Tom) and Gwen Haskell (Frank); and a brother Zane Gray. She was also preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Teresa Gray. She loved the Lord fiercely and wholly and is home with Him now.  Her pride and joy was her family and she loved socializing and making memories with those she loved.  Her patriotism was inspirational and she was unapologetically passionate for the things she believed in.  She was a beloved bus driver for Isle of Wight Schools and found joy in serving others.  She will be deeply missed here on earth but Heaven is throwing a coming home party and she decorated for it. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021, 11 a.m. at Smithfield Baptist Church, with a reception to follow in the Family Life Center.
