Carol Lee Wood

Carol Lee Scott Wood, 76, of Windsor, VA passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021.  Born October 3, 1944 in Pricehill, WV to the late Freeland and Louella Scott, a coal miners’ daughter, living in coal camps in her early life.  She attended elementary school in a 2-room school in Sand Branch, Wv, graduated high school from Woodrow Wilson High School in Beckley, Wv.  She went directly to Washington, D.C. to work for the Department of Agriculture, leaving there to Portsmouth, VA working for the Health Department until 1969.  In 1980 she began chicken farming until she retired in 2002.  She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Cleve Eugene Wood; two sons, Gregory Mark Wood (Holly Lynn Wood) and Jeffery Scott Wood (Laurie Robertson Wood); and two cherished grandchildren, Christina Ann Wood and Tyler Scott Wood.  A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021, 1 p.m. at Central Church of Christ, 204 S.
