Carol O'Neal Johnson

Carol O’Neal Johnson, 82, of Suffolk, Va, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Alvah Elbert O’Neal and Sadie Valentine Brice O’Neal. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, James Roy Johnson. She is survived by her sons, Michael Alan Johnson (Cheryl), Anthony Neil Johnson, Mark Andrew Johnson(Lori); grandchildren, Andrew, Deidre, Lauren, Anna and Erin; and many great grandchildren.

Mrs. Johnson was born and raised on the Outer Banks of North Carolina; she graduated from Manteo High School. Following high school, she moved to Virginia where she met and married “Bud”. She was active as a Cub Scout Den Mother and continued to be very active with her sons in the Scouts. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, was active in the Junto Women’s Club of Suffolk and a member of the Red Hat Club. Known for her creativity she enjoyed making stained glass art.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the America Cancer Society, c/o Pam Jordan, 18214 Farmview Lane, Windsor, VA 23487.
