Camilla Hayes Price

Camilla Hayes Cox Price, 94 of Surry passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.  She was the daughter of the late Robert Asbury Cox, Sr and Elsie Holland Cox.  Mrs. Price is survived by her daughter Betsy J. Garber (Don); sister, Margaret C. Skinner; brother, Robert A. Cox, Jr and a host of nieces and nephews.  Mrs. Price was preceded in death by her first husband James M. Johnson (decd. 1982), their son, James M Johnson, Jr (decd. 1950) and her second husband, Lloyd Barlow Price (decd. 2001).  She was a native of Smithfield, member of Trinity United Methodist Church, she worked for many years as the bookkeeper with her husband at Johnson Bros. in Surry, Virginia where she lived most of her life. In her retirement she resided in Richmond where she was active knitting for the Red Cross, volunteering in the Imperial Plaza Library and enjoying Richmond’s cultural offerings.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, June 9, 2019, 2 p.m. in Old Brick Church Cemetery, Bacon’s Castle, VA. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Bacon’s Castle Memorial Foundation, c/o of Mary Lynn Hayes, 5251 Colonial Trail East, Surry, VA 23883 or The Tom Ticket Fund for low income seniors at Virginia Repertory Theatre, 114 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220.
