Bruce Kerwin Steffey

Bruce Steffey, 79, of Carrollton passed away suddenly on 11/17/2022 in his home. Born in Michigan to the late Burr and Helen Steffey, he moved to Virginia in the 1970's and started his own companies, Battery Park Contractors, Inc, in 1979 and later, Eagle Service, Inc.

Bruce built the first strip-mall office building in Carrollton by hand in 1985, focusing on providing affordable rent to help others launch and grow their own small local businesses. He was the last surviving charter member of the Smithfield Lions Club, was a certified pilot for over 10 years, former member of Benn's UMC and a member of Trinity UMC.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary, her children David Lyons and Dr Linda Lyons-Bailey, two sisters, Jo Anne Green of SC and Jeanne Holzbach of Michigan and many nieces and nephews. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
