Bobby Lee Carsley, age 73, of South Chesterfield, Virginia, passed peacefully away in his sleep on March 17, 2026.
He was the son of the late Walter Orleigh Carsley and Martha Lily Ivey Carsley. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Vickie Lynn Carsley. He is survived by his daughter, Tina Rogers (Alexander); son, Scott Carsley (Jennifer); grandchildren, Nathan, Tonya, Amber, Hannah, Steven, Eleana and Bryan; and a great grandson, Miles.
Bobby was known as a hardworking and faithful man who took great pride in his work and the people around him. A Master Plumber by trade, he dedicated many years to his craft, earning the respect of those who knew him through his skill, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
In his later years, Bobby served as the Maintenance Director at The Edge Christian Camp, where he worked with great joy and purpose. He often shared that going to work there felt like stepping into a place outside of this world. He truly loved being there each day, arriving early and giving his best, and in return, he was deeply loved by those he worked alongside.
Bobby also faithfully served his country in the United States Navy, and he will be laid to rest with Military Honors.
He will be remembered for his diligence, his servant’s heart, and the quiet, steady way he showed up for others.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 7th at Calvary Baptist Church, 15155 Turner Drive, Smithfield, VA 23430. Visitation will take place from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by the main service from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Albert G Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
In lieu of flowers, due to military graveside restrictions, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to The Edge Christian Camp, the nonprofit where Bobby faithfully served. Donations will support the continued sharing of the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ—702 Eastover Drive, Spring Grove, VA 23881.
