Barton McKown Fowlkes, 49, of Hampton VA passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024. Barton was an extremely intelligent and an avid reader from an early age.
Barton was born on October 19, 1974 to Meade and Susan McKown Fowlkes in Charlottesville, VA.
He loved wandering in the woods and challenging discussions with anyone on any subject up for consideration. He loved his family, friends, sailing, wrestling for Great Bridge High School and working in Glacier National Park, Montana and Zion National Park, Utah.
He is survived by his parents Meade and Susan Fowlkes, his sister Laura and her husband Jason Heard and their children, Colton and wife Anna, Austin, and Emily and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield VA. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
