Barbara Louise Powell

Barbara Louise Powell, 74, of Rescue passed away on August 23, 2019 at her residence.  She was the daughter of Fred Dewey Tester and Ruth Lucille Bruner Tester.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years Robert Winton Powell, Jr; daughter, Susan Nino; grandchildren, Stacey, Brandon, Skyler, Ki’a; great-grandchildren, Braiden, Austin, Bella, Carter, Jakob, Nathan and Brandon; and her dog, Coty. Mrs. Powell was preceded in death by her father and a son, Robert W. Powell, III; and her dog Wookie.  “Nannie” loved her children and grandchildren, spending time with her family and was always willing to help anyone. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 26, 2019, from 7 to 8 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, Va. Burial will be private in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens.
