Barbara Jean Moran

Barbara Jean Moran, 78, of Smithfield, VA, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Merton Thomas Brown and Ruth Satira Frances Brown. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Lynn Crawford Moran; daughters, Patricia Phillips (Ronald) and Suzan Marston; son, Peter Moran (Melissa); granddaughter, Monica (Wesley); great grandson, Sonny; sisters, Sylvia Snyder, Beverly Tourtellotte, and Vivian Schmeer (Scott); and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Richard, Larry, Roger and Ronald.

Barbara was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always caring for others. She was a member and past secretary of the VFW Post 8545 Auxiliary. She loved nature and especially spending time in her garden. A wonderful artist she loved to paint, enjoyed baking and sewing. She worked with Lynn for many years in their business, Global Discount Satellite.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, 2 p.m. at Littles Funeral Home, Smithfield, with burial to be held at Albert G. Horton, Jr. Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
