Barbara Boles Hubble

Barbara Boles Hubble, beloved wife, mother, and friend passed away on April 5, 2024 at home. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully transitioned from this life. Barbara was born on September 18, 1937, in Martinsville, VA, to Rufus H. Boles and Annie Mae Fulton Boles.

Barbara’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Barbara cherished spending time with her family above all else and leaves behind beautiful memories of love and togetherness.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Garland L. Hubble; daughters Cathy Berry and Allison Mabry (Melvin), along with her granddaughter Hope Renee Franks (Chase), and great granddaughter Whitley Naomi Franks. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Phyllis Blomburg and many special nieces and nephews.

Barbara is predeceased by her grandson Jonathan Berry, sister Mildred Roop, and brothers Ivan B. Boles, and Rufus H. Boles, Jr. 

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Barbara's life is on Tuesday April 9, 2024 at 2:00pm, St. Luke's Memorial Park Cemetery in Smithfield, VA and will be officiated by Brother Charles Jones.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Barbara's memory to Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad or Isle of Wight Academy. The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the Riverside Hospice Team especially Dr. Teresa McConaughy, M.D. and Debbie Boyd, R.N.

Barbara will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched with her compassion and grace. May she rest in peace knowing that she was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
