B. Daniel Smith, Jr

B. Daniel “Danny” Smith, Jr, 79 of Smithfield, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Debra White Smith; sons, Richard “Rick” Smith, Michael Smith (Laura), and Kirk Smith (Whitney); grandchildren, Xavier, Aspen, Scarlett, and Kaito; and a sister, Joanne Bryant.

Danny was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and dogs. Danny was a master tile craftsman with more than 50 years in the trade. He had a love for muscle cars, as he owned many in his life time. He was a die-hard Tom Brady fan, enjoyed scratch tickets, 7-Eleven coffee and fraternizing out front of the store, watching westerns and listening to his oldies music. Anyone who knew Danny knows that he was a simple man with a quick and witty sense of humor. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, 10 a.m. at St Luke's Memorial Park Cemetery, Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 to 6 p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Isle of Wight Animal Shelter or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
