Anne Griffin Thacker

Anne Griffin Thacker, 92, of Smithfield passed away Monday, February 5th, 2024. She was the daughter of the late William Floyd Griffin and Musa Kane Britt.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Shelton Lane Thacker and son William Randall "Randy" Thacker. Anne is survived by her son, Michael R. Thacker, daughter Sharon Thacker Carawan, grandson Justin Carawan, brothers William Floyd Griffin Jr., and Ronald G. West, sisters Jean Newsome and Carolyn Epps. 

Anne was a life long resident of Isle of Wight County and served as homemaker while her husband Shelton tended the family farm. 

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, 2 p.m. at Bethany Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Isle of Wight Volunteer Rescue Squad, PO Box 97, Smithfield VA 23431.
