Anita Marie Garcia passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, with her family by her side. She was born in Nottingham, England on January 22, 1941. She was proceeded in death by her loving husband Harold.

Anita was very passionate about her faith and was a member of Benn's United Methodist Church. She was active in the VFW and multiple organizations supporting the men and women of the armed forces. She knitted scarves for the Peninsula Resue Mission for those in need. Anita was very knowledgeable about gardening and wrote multiple articles for the local newspaper as a Master Gardener.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Marie Turner; her son Jonathan Bradley; three grandchildren, Christina Howell, Joshua Outten and Virginia Hauser; six great grandchildren, Michael, Halie, Christopher, Gavin, Jacob and Jaxson; three great great grandchildren, Hazel, Violet and River; and special friend Heiko.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Smithfield VFW.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, 2pm at Littles Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA. Internment will take place at a later date at Albert G. Horton Jr Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
