Amber Lynn Colley, 29, of Smithfield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday June 22, 2020 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was the daughter of C. Scott Whitten and Patricia “Teresa” Gail Hart Whitten. Amber is survived by her husband Scott Daniel Colley; their children, Wyatt, Jessa, Caroline, Emma and Ethan; her brother, Christopher Whitten and wife Destinie; paternal grandparents, John and Kathi Whitten; maternal grandparents, JoAnn and Bill Campbell; special cousins, Lele Chavez, Karlee Quesenberry, Ronnie Quesenberry and Justin Quesenberry; and numerous other family.
Amber was a mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin, granddaughter, niece and friend to everyone who knew her. She loved to make people smile with her kindness and humor – she was always the life of the party.
Amber embraced her community as a neighbor and as a member of Smithfield Christian Church. She could often be seen drawing chalk art on her street to brighten the day and create conversation.
Amber lived in the moment saying “she can’t take it with her, so might as well do it now”. Amber was a beautiful, bright and funny person filled with goodness and love for all.
We are so proud of Amber for her final courageous, selfless gift of saving four lives through organ donation.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 11:30 at Smithfield Christian Church, 18420 Battery Park Rd, Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the service and during reception at the church immediately following the service. To celebrate Amber, respectfully casual attire in all the colors she loved is welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Amber's Kindness Memorial Fund. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com.
