Amanda Rae Wright

Amanda Rae Wright, 36, of Carrsville, VA, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2026. She was the daughter of Tracey Lynn Handle and the late Michael Lee Johnson. She is survived by her husband, of ten years, William Bradford Wright; sons, Bentley Wright, Corey Wright, John Wilkinson Jakobie Wright, and MIJO PIG; sister, Brittany Denise Heasley; brother, Lane McKinley Johnson; grandparents, Millie and Chuck Handle; in laws, Wayne and Diane Wright; and special friends, Diane and Jr. Gainey, Stacy Mantz, Alyssa Hardiman, Britt Condo, Corey Young, Tammy Woods, Stacy Meier, Chance Nieves, the entire Franklin Bowling Alley Family, and many others included her extended family from Bradshaw’s Country Store. She was also preceded in death by grandparents, Winnie and John Barrett.

Amanda loved the beach, friends, Red Bulls and Starbucks. She loved Starbucks enough to become a manager for almost 10 years. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone without wanting anything in return.

Amanda and William met in October of 2012. They had a lot of ups and downs but she always told him they would figure it out and get through it. They battled a lot of loss from the house fire last year but now they are building a new truck wash where Amanda was running the office.

She was an amazing wife, mother, sister, daughter, granddaughter and friend. She was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, 6. p.m. at Little’s Funeral Home, Smithfield, VA. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be registered at www.littlesfuneralhome.com
