Albert George Murray

Albert George Murray, 78, of Smithfield passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. He was the son of the late Homer Murray Sr, and Marguerite Trahan Murray. He survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Elizabeth Murray; daughters, Nichole Murray (Payton Cook) Kimberly M. Stanley (Scott); sons, Hugh McClure (Patricia) and Robert McClure (Theresa); grandchildren, Tyler, Josh, Zach and Bridget; and brothers, Jerry and David Murray. He was beloved husband, father and friend to many. He proudly served in the US Army, retiring after 20 years of service and continued his commitment by working as a defense contractor for 27 more years. In retirement he enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool. A private service will be held at Albert G. Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, VA.
